About Seattle Rotary Style Basketball

OUR MISSION

The Rotary Style Select Basketball Program is dedicated to developing the whole child; personally, athletically and academically. The Style Program has a mission which is threefold:

  1. Build self-esteem in children by building feelings of increased competence, effectiveness, usefulness and belonging.
  2. Teach useful skills; and
  3. Develop positive values.

The Style basketball program was founded by Dan Finkley in 1991. In 1996, the program merged with Rotary Boys & Girls Club and took on the name Rotary Style. Rotary Style is now led by current program director, Daryll Hennings.

Style strives to provide youth in the Pacific Northwest a platform to showcase their talents and live out their dreams of playing high level basketball. The Style season runs November through July annually, during which the teams participate in competitive local, regional and national events.

The Style is a volunteer based program, which is supported by the rich Seattle basketball community, numerous generous donors and the Boys & Girls Club of King County. The program culture has proven to bring out the best in all of its participants by mandating a high standard in athletics, academics and social behavior.

Rotary Style has and continues to provide Seattle area youth a lifetime of positive memories, experiences and friendships through the game of Basketball.
